Scholarships

 
The Cusanuswerk is the gifted support organization of the German Bishops' Conference. The mission is to provide intellectual and material support to particularly talented Catholic students. The Cusanuswerk awards scholarships for undergraduate studies, doctoral studies and various postgraduate courses. In addition, it offers the opportunity for interdisciplinary dialogue. Our pastoral advisors conduct consultat recommendations.
 
 
The Catholic Academic Foreigners Service supports talented international students who are pursuing a master's or doctoral degree in Germany. Information about funding opportunities can be found at http://www.kaad.de. Our pastoral advisors conduct consultations.

The Albertus Magnus and Hildegardis Association, the study foundation of the Archdiocese of Freiburg, provides scholarships for Catholic students at all universities who are in the final phase of their studies. The financial support is intended to help you complete your studies well.

Formal requirements:
  • You are a student at a university in the Archdiocese of Freiburg and have good to very good grades.
  • You are in the final phase of your studies (funding period max. twelve months).
  • You are a Catholic, German (exceptions possible) and a committed student.
  • Doctoral studies are not funded.
The amount of the scholarship is between 100 euros and 400 euros per month. Funding is only possible from June 1st at the earliest.
Please register by February 15th if you are interested in the scholarship.
Necessary documents for application:
  • Personal application letter
  • Personal CV of the applicant in tabular form with photo
  • Reference/report from KHG
  • Scientific report from a professor at the relevant university (for a combination of subjects: from the main subject) - according to the appropriate form (form will be sent via the KHG)
  • Tabular study history/certificates/proof of achievements of the candidate (Abitur certificate, preliminary diploma, intermediate examination, graded seminar certificates, especially advanced seminar certificates) - also from the current winter semester
  • The foundation board decides on the awarding of scholarships.
